Received when Toothless left Johto on 3/9/12 @ level 22. After Toothless left, Hiccup attached himself to the then-little dragon, determined to get her to come out of her shell. Unused to having an attentive trainer, Adder was wary at first, but soon accepted her new trainer. Since then, she's been determined to prove her appreciation to Hiccup any way she can, and she has taken over as Hiccup's favorite. Had a particular fondness for Kiki, and has been down ever since she left.

Met on Route 34 on 10/3/12 @ level 20. Algae was caught alongside Albert's Shellos, Goober, on a berry-hunting excursion by the boys. The exact circumstances of how the pair came by these love slugs and captured them will never be revealed, but it can be agreed that it was, in fact, all Hiccup's fault. Algae is a lot like the other Shellos, amazed by whatever she comes across, but she tends to be more focused in general, and has made it her mission to spread happiness. Because of this, she tends to hang around Albert and bug him.

Met when an egg from John hatched on 7/4/12 @ level 1. Hiccup purchased Astrid's egg after discovering it would be an ice type, and would be capable of becoming air conditioning. Though she was a hatchling, Astrid was determined to pick fights with the dragons of Hiccup's team as soon as they were in her sights. Because of her tough attitude coupled with the fact that she is cute and incredibly useful, the viking decided to name her after someone from home. Of course, now that the "real" Astrid is in Johto, Astrid the Froslass feels a bit threatened, and during the ghost swarm she refused to allow Hiccup to catch any of the ghosts. Despite her usual demeanor, she had a soft spot for Mio that developed after seeing the girl in a kimono.

Received when Astrid left Johto on 7/3/13 @ level 100. Ball is a very good sport, and that's really the most important thing about her. She put up with being named Ball, after all, and had dealt with Astrid's pokemon using her as a pillow, standing on her to get a better view, and rolling her down a hill because they think it's funny. She never minded this, and she even sort of liked being the center of attention.

Met when an egg from Karkat and Vanitas hatched on 2/25/13 @ level 1. It's a bird made of knives. Knives were the only weapon Hiccup was actually decent at wielding. Hiccup was also decent at making things. Hiccup can use the knife-bird's feathers to make random metal things. Knife-bird can also fly him around to places. It was bound to happen eventually, okay.

Met when an egg he bred hatched on 12/1/12 @ level 1. The offspring of Zippleback and Astrid's Luxray, Crackletail. Since she wasn't too fond of the idea of taking care of sheep, Astrid originally took the only Shinx of litter, and so was dismayed when he turned out to be just as much of a lamb as the other hatchlings. Family dominated by the Mareep line, Brightwire began to believe he, too, was one. Eventually frustrated, Astrid gave the cub to Hiccup to raise instead. Even fully evolved and clearly a lion, Brightwire will bleat with the best of 'em.

Met when an egg from Karkat and Vanitas hatched on 2/17/13 @ level 1. As soon as she hatched, Brynhildr devoted herself to Valhallarama the Cubone, taking up position as her knight in shining armor. She carries herself with confidence, though she also has a tendency towards aggression that Hiccup would like to fix, and so she fits in with the larger members of Hiccup's team. Oftentimes she can be found with Valhallarama's Bone Club and, less disconcertingly, a pink bow. Brynhildr was named after the figure in Norse mythology.

Met through a Fateful Encounter in New Berk Town on 12/5/11 @ level 5. Though Dinkfin was once Hiccup's "go-to" pokemon, the Kingdra doesn't seem to mind the fact that his trainer has been paying more attention to others lately. He's happier when Hiccup is on the move, and so he has grown somewhat resentful of Goldenrod City. His final evolution was achieved through the help of a Dragon Scale and Albert Rosenfield, who borrowed him briefly for a contest and was suitably shocked when he found that Dinkfin was no longer a Seadra. If Hiccup said not informing Albert wasn't intentional, he would be lying. There was revenge somewhere in there. Finds Urd's crush on him weird.

Met when an egg from Obito and Blake hatched on 5/26/13 @ level 1. Because she hatched while the vikings and Carmen were in Blackthorn, Hiccup decided to name her after his favorite city (and the type of pokemon it was known for.) Dragonthorn was an energetic one from the moment she hatched, literally swinging around and around from the fan in his room at the inn. None of his other pokemon seem to want much to do with her, but she doesn't really mind, being more interested in the world and human inventions than other pokemon. She was the first pokemon he acquired after fourteen others of his left.

Met when an egg from the Breeding Centre hatched on 9/23/12 @ level 1. Despite being of a species without a gender, Eve identifies as female. Hiccup had originally wanted to name the Rotom 'Atom', after some recently acquired learnin', but the pokemon misunderstood this as 'Adam' and revolted, choosing to name 'her'self instead. She has a lot of fun possessing his 'gear, which is sure to lead to problems in the future, and likes to meet new people. Because people are silly.

Met when Christmas's 2012 egg hatched on 1/15/13 @ level 1. Falkor was the one to start the 'name pokemon after The Neverending Story characters' phase thanks to her shiny pink (now green) scales matching that of Michael EnDewott's description of the book's Falkor. Like the fictional dragon, Falkor has boundless energy and oodles of optimism stored up in her once-noodle-like body, which she fully intends to share with all those she comes across. She honestly believes she is particularly lucky, and now that she is a Dragonite, she misses her pink scales, but is ecstatic to go out flying with Hiccup.

Received when Astrid left Johto on 7/3/13 @ level 100. Astrid caught Fuzzball on a whim, to see if she could figure out how pokeballs worked. The little pokemon was immediately friendly, if very, very vain, and paraded around the pokegear when she asked people if she was worth keeping. Since then, she had become one of Astrid's closest pokemon, and also one of her best fighters. Astrid typically had her out of her ball, and she can often be found riding around on Hiccup's shoulder or head now that her original trainer left. She's still just as vain as ever, if not worse now that she's proven just how good she is. Never ever going to evolve.

Met when an egg from The Closet of Puppies hatched on 1/24/13 @ level 1. Despite being named after an 'evil' creature from The Neverending Story, Gmork wouldn't hurt a fly as long as he could help it. He's a wiggly little thing, eager to be held so he can more easily give kisses to those around him, and he'd rather be more of a pet than a partner in battle. Even if there was a literal sea of puppies at the Justice Farm that day, Hiccup has a feeling he knows who Gmork's mother is out of the possibilities.

Met at the MooMoo Farm on 11/5/12 @ level 10. After spending time on the MooMoo Farm and being reminded of the barn animals back home, Hiccup decided to take in one of the calves for sale. Upon learning that Johto's pink milk didn't come from its pink cows (or his cow is defective) Hiccup was faced with mild disappointment. He's pushed past most of that feeling, instead taking to training her as she shows an aptitude for fighting that makes her name somehow more fitting. Helga has a serious addiction to cuddles and views Zippleback as her mother.

Met on Route 35 on 5/25/12 @ level 13. While Hookfang is named after Snotlout's dragon, he ended up a bit like his trainer's cousin himself. He has a lot of bravado but very little follow-through, and has a tendency to try and eat through Hiccup's prosthetic foot. Hiccup's had to repair it more than once because Hookfang. He's kind of a troublemaker, but seems to look up to/be intimidated by Vicky, Carmen's Arcanine, and so has taken it upon himself to try and be that hound's boyfriend ASAP since evolving. Because he now has swag, obviously. And the best pick-up lines.

Met when an egg from Riku hatched on 3/1/13 @ level 1. Leap Year, called Leap for short, hatched on Hiccup's and Carmen's joint birthday along with Carmen's own Eevee, Berk Lee. Leap doesn't really have any desire to be a strong battler, despite his larger movepool and the fact that Hiccup seems to have plans for his future, though he feels compelled to make his trainer proud in his own way. He isn't sure how to communicate the fact that he'd rather stay an Eevee.

Met when an egg he bred hatched on 10/28/12 @ level 1. The offspring of Laila and Kite. Lily takes after her mother not only in species, but in personality as well. She's a sweet, caring little puffball of an owl, willing to step up to the plate if asked, with a habit of preening those around her. Also like her mother, Lily likes to spend her time as a Hoothoot nestled in her trainer's hair--though she settles for being on top his head, as she isn't quite as shy as her mother. Also Hiccup doesn't have as much hair as Ziva, so that's a problem.

Received when Toothless left Johto on 3/9/12 @ level 3. She's still considered a baby by Hiccup, since that's what she came to him as, even though she tends to bounce her way into nearby routes for wild encounters. She is determined to become the very best, like no one ever was, and so considers Adder the Salamence her rival (Adder is, of course, oblivious to this fact.) Littlefoot was named by Heather "Child of the '90s" Mason when Hiccup couldn't think up anything to call her.

Met when an egg from Carmen hatched on 9/23/12 @ level 1. When he first saw a Purrloin in the hands of Vanitas, Hiccup was interested. When the same Purrloin began to act in a way that reminded him of of his dragon, the viking knew he had to have one. Luckily for him, his wish came true when, out of frustration, Carmen's Liepard Macavity happened to have an egg. Night Fury isn't exactly the derpy but reliable 'Toothless' type Hiccup was hoping for, but the mischievous kitty is still pretty darn cute, so he can't complain. Since he hasn't made the connection between his collar and his lack of evolving, Night Fury assumes he somehow caused this, and has put in more effort into his training. Unfortunately, now that he's reached level 100, he has lost the opportunity.

Received when Miyuki left Johto on 12/10/12 @ level 100. Miyuki received Rude-bro in a joint Breeding Centre purchase with Nero during their anniversary sale. She was aptly named; like most Deino, she went around biting and bodyslamming things as a matter of course. That included Miyuki — but only once. Haku-bro has since ensured that it won't happen again. Thanks to that incident, Haku-bro is the only one Rude-bro will listen to. The one reprieve the team has gotten is that Rude-bro hatched without any teeth. She required special food, since she couldn't chew. When she evolved into a Zweilous, however, she also cut a set of wicked sharp teeth, which she takes great and inappropriate glee in using on anyone who comes near. It was a few days before Hiccup noticed this new addition, busy with the holiday season, and when he finally did, he was promptly bitten. Since then, he has been incredibly wary to do anything with the Hydreigon despite his determination to befriend all dragons every dragons.

Met when an egg from Aidou hatched on 12/8/12 @ level 1. Snotsnout was named after Hiccup's cousin Snotlout shortly after hatching, given the massive amounts of dangling mucus making the name appropriate. What wasn't expected was for the bear to be...well, afraid of everything. Instead of walking around boasting with his chest puffed out like his namesake, Snotsnout prefers to spend his time, like Valhallarama, curled up in his trainer's arms. Unfortunately, this causes the Cubone to view him with extreme mistrust and envy, so he's terrified of her as well. He's been inspired by Carmen's pokemon, Miles, to try and be braver, and so has slowly started up training.

Met when an egg from Astrid hatched on 10/28/12 @ level 1. The offspring of Fuzzball and Flamefur. Spitcano isn't one to catch snoozing on the job--in fact, it's hard to catch him in the first place. He likes to keep on his feet, zipping to and fro, which has the unfortunate side effect of getting him lost. Since he tends to not keep track of where he was or where he was supposed to go in the first place, this takes an even greater toll on Spitcano, who will wail until found or directed back to his trainer. Even with his size increase upon evolution, he's tricky to find.

Received when Astrid left Johto on 7/3/13 @ level 100. Squishything (or Squish) started following Astrid around during a Clefairy swarm. After a few hours, Astrid got annoyed, threw a pokeball at her, and that was that. She's a very energetic, positive and upbeat pokemon who loves spending all her time trying to get other pokemon to do the best they possibly ever can! She isn't a great fighter herself, acting more as positive reinforcement for everybody else.

Met at the National Park for the BCC on 7/5/12 @ level 16. Hiccup won the Bug-Catching Contest by catching Stoick, even if the bug pokemon was a little offended at only being third place. Because of the Swadloon's gruff attitude, the way he gets along with Laila, and Hiccup's general homesickness, he decided to name the bug after his father. Like his namesake, Stoick can't seem to put aside his fatherly feelings, and instead awkwardly dotes on the boy.

Met when an egg from Karkat and Vanitas hatched on 6/15/12 @ level 1. As Vanitas said, Hiccup's Swablu has been a gentle bird thus far. She has made several attempts to get Musphel, who hatched the same day, to notice or play with her, but has had no luck. Stormfly likes to tuck herself against Hiccup's neck when she perches on his shoulder. Since Astrid (the human) arrived in Johto, Stormfly has been fascinated by her.

Received when Kiki left Johto on 11/12/12 @ level 60. Once a delicate little fawn, Till has grown into a bigger frame, and thankfully, some maturity. His laughing side still hasn't left him completely, and he's a bit of a clown, but he's more likely to stem trouble than cause it, these days.

Met when an egg from the Breeding Centre hatched on 9/23/12 @ level 1. Hiccup hadn't originally thought to pick up a Cubone, but he checked their entry by chance and couldn't not take one of the eggs. Since the one he hatched turned out to be female, he made the decision to name her after his own mother, Valhallarama. Because that's a mouthful, he calls her 'Val' for short. From the moment she hatched, Val has been Hiccup's little girl, and it's not often he's seen without her in his arms. It doesn't help that when he isn't holding her, she often cries. A recent jealous streak has caused her to remain awake more than usual to make sure that Snotsnout isn't trying to steal her daddy away from her.

Met on Route 19 on 7/27/13 @ level 40. Junior, as Hiccup has taken to referring to the dinosaur, was named after Hiccup's previous Aerodactyl before he was aware of her gender. She doesn't seem to be aware of her extremely diminutive size, tearing about like a tiny Godzilla when she's indoors. Hiccup has been kicked out of two restaurants due to Junior's tendency to slap cups containing liquid onto the ground. Despite being taught the Fly HM, Junior doesn't appear to be capable of flight, instead hopping about and climbing to get to where she needs to be.

Received when Mio left Johto on 3/31/13 @ level 17. Astrid (the Froslass) wasn't too thrilled to see the little Snorunt when it showed up, as it meant the only person she really liked had returned to her own home. Yuki was nonetheless taken under Astrid's wing, and evolved before Hiccup had any say in the matter. Astrid may or may not be trying to brainwash her fellow Froslass into acting more like Mio. Ah well, at least they get to have snowball fights.

Met when an egg from Rinoa hatched on 7/7/12 @ level 1. Zippleback was named for the sparks of electricity similar to that of one of the Hideous Zippleback's heads. She tends to go around shocking people and pokemon for fun, though she doesn't understand how this could be seen as something mean. When Zippleback's not doing that or being used as a pillow, one can usually find her staring intently at a wall. She has recently taken up motherhood, after finding out that she enjoyed raising Helga, and--along with Astrid's Luxray, Crackletail--decided she wanted to raised all her eggs herself. Hiccup and Astrid were not so amused.
