Perhaps it's to foster pity or something of that nature. Hoping you'll feel so bad for her that you won't take your badge. I doubt it works, but I would have to give her points for persistance if that were the case. [Poor Hiccup.]

Unless, of course, they all have the same sort of reactions with each battle.

I would think she'd realize that she's annoying, if that were the case, though...

The locals here are all pretty strange and repetitive. I see the same customers almost every day, at the mart.

I noticed that as well. It could be a video game thing, much like the background music. [He eventually shrugs as well.]

[Video game... The term is vaguely familiar, but it's been months since he actually focused on it. He remembers...not a lot of explaining getting done. But now that he understands what electricity and TV screens are, it makes more sense. He also recalls Junpei explaining that they were stuck in one.]
