Cianwood's leader use fighting types, so flying and psychic types are your best bet. He have a Poliwrath, so I suggest electric or grass types against it as well.

You've been here six months and that's your first badge? You're really slow, dude. I got my first badge, like, two months after I showed up in September. I've already got all eight Johto badges.

[ Critical or not, she seems to be willing to impart some wisdom on poor Hiccup. ] Cianwood's a Fighting-type gym, so Flying and Psychic are your best bet. The old dude who runs it has a Poliwrath, too, so you might want a good Electric or Grass move just in case.
