[Adults are kind of ridiculous aren't they ... and Coop has to smile a bit on his end because you're right on the money there, Hiccup. That, and aw.]
I'm sure they will, in time. But until then we'll just have to keep working on them.
[Sounding probably surprisingly cheerful about that.]

[Cooper might be cheered by that prospect, but Hiccup most definitely is not.]

[It's not that he's cheered, precisely, more that he's being optimistic. He believes in the goodness of people! And so on.]
Don't be too sure about that. He already did listen to you, after all.

[Yeah, optimism is just something Hiccup lacks most of the time.
He does seem to perk up a little (mostly out of curiosity) at that, though.]
...Yeah?
[Hmmn.]
Then I guess

[Gotta think how to reconcile with Albert now, hmmn.]

In my experience things don't always turn out to be as bad as they first appear.
[A piece of advice there. ...you know, other times things are a lot WORSE than they appear, but we don't have to talk about that right now, it doesn't seem relevant.]

[Hiccup takes a deep breath, as if to prepare himself.]
Alright. Thanks, Cooper.
[Time to try this optimism thing, maybe.]
