[There's another pause as a loud crack of thunder rolls by, followed by a bout of static.]

[Hiccup's face appears briefly as the feed freaks out one last time, looking just as it had three weeks ago when he had vanished without a trace. There's concern there over his current predicament, but he doesn't seem to be aware of his time away from Johto.]

I was saying how if the power went out, Goldenrod City would probably be in pretty bad shape. Pokemon could help with some stuff, though, like fresh food and water, or maybe even getting electrical stuff to work again.

Probably. I don't actually understand electricity that well.

most places have back up sources of power. so when the main source of power goes out, the secondary kicks in.

What stops the back-up from going out, too?

it will only last a few hours, but it's supposed to hold out for as long as repairs and stuff take.

Do you think that if they had enough electric types, they could power the city? Or at least charge a back-up for their back-up?

maybe they ARE the back ups.

Maybe. But that doesn't seem like it'd be a good system to have when storms could happen randomly. What if some of the pokemon get sick, and they don't have enough?

I guess really it depends on how many electric types they would need...

you'd think that they wouldn't need THAT many.

It probably depends on the species of pokemon they are. Different fire types can put out flames of different temperatures, so I think maybe electric types would work the same.

[And then it occurs to Hiccup that perhaps other people aren't quite as interested in theorizing about this as he is.]
