Fourteenth Flight. [text/action for Justice Farm.]
[Hiccup's trip had been pretty successful, all told. He hadn't had to spend the night in any woods, he'd repaid his friend for good deeds of the past, and he'd finally gotten to say a proper goodbye to the Other Father. Not to mention reunite an old pair, even if Ziva didn't necessarily remember her giant, nurturing owl. Needless to say, he's in a pretty good mood as he and Ziva make their way to the train station, and in sharing his good cheer, he purchases a nice, delicious-looking batch of cookies that he promptly forgets about. In fact, it isn't until they head down the street in the direction of Albert's home that he's reminded of it by the growling of his stomach, and Hiccup gets a few cookies in before disaster strikes.
A stomachache.
He arrives at the Justice Farm via Arcanine, Hookfang oddly compliant with his trainer out of sorts. Because now it isn't just any plain old stomachache. The dog is almost convinced that Hiccup is a fire-type himself, with that temperature! The boy is deposited onto the couch, where he curls up before sending out a quick text to the network--he's really not in any condition to filter it to the residents of the house.]
back in saffron hosue
ziva too
[...Oh dear, that's not proper sentence structure at all. And a spelling error? Horrendous. Any replies to that attack on the Pokemon Common Language will be seen to after he's convinced he's not dying. Which, with how he feels, mind end up being a while.]

action;
How fortuitous.
And now she feels kind of silly because she should have just waited. Or not let Hiccup eat those cookies in the first place, though to be fair her back was kind of turned when he did. Either way.]
Albert.
action;
She's, uh... Uhmn... [Where had she said she was going again...?
Luckily for him, he doesn't need to wrack his brain any more than that because, like magic, there she was. Truly a Christmas miracle. Hiccup gives her a smile as she returns, because LOOK, I FOUND YOU
except not reallyAND I'M NOT DEAD.also da fuq, when did you two meet, WAT.]
Hi, Ziva. Uhmn, he says he wants to talk to you.
action;
Good to see you. You hang tight, kid, we'll get you fixed up.
[Snagging the box, he motions for Ziva to join him a short distance away from the couch.]
What can you tell me about what happened to him?
action;
He ate some of those cookies when we arrived in Saffron, though I did not see where he obtained them.
[So for all she knew, they were a Christmas gift--if she knew he'd bought them off of some random stranger she would've intervened.]
They seem to be poisoned. I exposed myself to a small amount to rule out an allergic reaction.
action;
[It pains him to have to say "giant fire slug" aloud, but you know, some things are more important than his hatred of Johto. And he nods in response to her professional opinion, scowling down at the halves of the cookie still in his hand.]
Meanwhile, let's get the kid fixed up and you looked at, too. If it's poison originating in one of the thirtysome poisonous types of animal in this universe, I've got something in the back that ought to be able to neutralize it — what makes this stuff nasty is the way in which it lingers. We get a lid on it now, it'll keep him from getting any worse and he can ride out the stomachache with a Tylenol and bed rest. [A pause.] And if it's not, then we've got a bigger problem.
action;
I remember seeing the giant fire slug. I was surprised that it could wear a hat without it catching on fire. However, it seemed to be unaccompanied.
[Yeah, it is all ridiculousness. What are these words coming out of her mouth, ugh.]
I am alright, I did not actually consume any of it--just tested it on my tongue. I suppose if your treatment works, we will know what it is, yes?
action;
[By now, Gandhina has come trotting in as summoned, and is once again attempting to sit near Albert's feet and wag her tail at the same time, which resorts in a fair amount of squirming and butt-shuffling on her part. He gives the cookies another glance, apparently debating, and then shakes his head.]
I still want a look, as a precaution; this stuff can work on contact, even if you don't ingest or inhale it. And the last thing we need is somebody competent out of commission. Keep an eye on the kid, and I'll go see what I've got in the back.
action;
[Aww, puppy. Ziva nods--you called her competent that's the nicest thing anyone's said to her all day.]
Alright.
[There's a time for lots of words, it isn't now. She'll bring up what they should do after Hiccup gets medical treatment.]
action;
And what he's got is far from a perfect remedy; certainly nothing up to the level of a berry's ability to cure a Pokemon's poisoning. But the science ought to be the same (or close enough to suffice), and so he pulls down a very small jar of powder and returns to the couch, snagging a spoon from one of the kitchen drawers and a clean coffee mug of water as he does so.]
Let's give this a shot. You first, and then we'll work on trying to get him to sit up and drink the rest.
action;
I am sure he will appreciate it more than the activated charcoal I suggested.
action;
He measures out some of the powder into the spoon and stirs it into the mug, the metal clinking against the ceramic until he's convinced it's been thoroughly dissolved.]
That's the backup if this doesn't take. Try a couple sips. If there's residue still on your tongue, you'll know it if it works — there'll be an abrupt improvement and a cool sensation that wears off fast, and then a dull lingering heat for about the next half-hour.
action;
Ziva takes the mug and sips at it as directed--not her usual tea but, well, tea doesn't exactly cure poison. The lingering remnants of the numbness in her tongue fades and her headache starts to lessen by the second or third small sip. The results are probably fairly obvious from the surprise on her face. Medicine has never worked this fast before.]
...well, that certainly worked.
[She returns the cup to Albert. Seems it was indeed the cookies, and a poison from a Pokemon.]
If these are being distributed at-large, we should announce it. Not everyone is going to have an antidote at hand.
[Bless you for being so prepared with your Science, Albert.]
action;
We're lucky there's enough for the two of you as it is. People aren't going to be able to go pick this stuff up like Pepto-Bismol.
[SCIENCE!! SAVES THE DAY AGAIN, HOWEVER.]
Might not be much point in trying to pull prints off the box if it came from a fire slug, but somebody with opposable thumbs had to handle the thing at some point. Drawer to the left of the sink, there's some plastic bags. Let's get the kid back in action first and maybe he can give us some more clues on who's behind this before we put out a special news bulletin.
action;
A shame IAFIS does not extend its reach to Johto. It does not seem likely there is a local equivalent.
[Someone doesn't have much faith in Officer Jenny's policing skills. Also sadly IAFIS wasn't a thing until 1999 so that reference will be lost.]
action;
Not likely? That's an understatement.
[He heads back to the couch and gives Hiccup a nudge, bringing the mug with him.]
Hey, kid. Up and at 'em. Drink this, it might settle your stomach.
action;
...Well, it didn't look like charcoal. Down the hatch it goes, if a bit cautiously. His stomach still wasn't all too keen on any new content. After the initial rebellion, though, it apparently decides that this liquid is alright--or at least enough so that it doesn't make him feel any worse. Still, it certainly isn't up to the berry standard, and it's got quite the job ahead of it with how many cookies he'd wound up eating. After a few gulps, he pulls the mug away and eyes it, nose wrinkling up some.]
Is it s'posed to be making everything even hotter?
action;
[He relieves Hiccup of the mug and eyes it himself, debating whether to use up the rest of the little jar of powder on another dose, or if they should ride this one out and see if there's improvement.]
action;
I dunno... Maybe a little, I guess?
[It wasn't magic, that was for sure.]
action;
Suffice to say, the next few hours are going to be anxious ones.]
Okay. You sing out the minute anything changes for the worse, you got it? You ate more of them than Ziva did and had them in your system for longer. That means you're going to have a longer ride ahead of you than she did, too.
action;
I will be around to keep an eye on you as well.
action;
Oh well. He's distracted easily by Ziva's comment, anyway, offering her a weak smile.]
You don't need to, if you don't want... If you're fine, then I will be too, right?
[HE DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE UP ALL YOUR TIME...]
