[Among the background bustle--familiar sounds for anyone who's set foot in a Pokemon Center--there's a small whine from an Eevee, almost like a prompt for Hiccup to speak. After another second or so, he does.]

Uh... Has anyone ever, uhmm. [There's another pause. How should he put this...] Lost...half their pokemon? [He clears his throat before continuing, quicker this time like an excuse.] I still have all their pokeballs, and those are registered to all of them still, according to the people at the Center. But I can't find them anywhere...

[Hiccup sighs, and there's a subtle clunk as he moves his hand to the 'gear to shut it off. Before he does, though, there's one last mumble.]

I can't believe this is happening again...

Probably won't help, but my Rufflet often flies off on his own for hours at a time, but he always comes back. Maybe they'll come back on their own?

[pauses for a second in thought]

What type of Pokemon did you lose anyway?

Maybe... [He's sounding doubtful, though. Memories had him bogged down.] I haven't done a complete headcount of my pokemon yet, but... Almost twenty left, I think. All different types.

I'm sure you'll find them, just don't give up. Maybe you can get friends to help search for them with flying or psychic Pokemon?

I guess... [Glum, gloomy glumster. But he does sound a little bit hopeful as he continues.] I can ask Carmen and Astrid if they can help. If all the ones that left are still together, they shouldn't be...too hard to find.

I'm sure you'll find them if you have your friends helping you. It's always better to have multiple sets of eyes when searching.

That's true. I'm sure they wouldn't mind lending me their pokemon for the search, too, if it comes to that. Hopefully it won't, though.
