Well... [Hmmn, maybe that was a bit dramatic. Then again, vikings are pretty extreme! Hiccup shrugs.]

I'm supposed to kill a dragon tomorrow, but since my best friend is a dragon, I'm not really seeing that happening... So maybe they won't kick me out, but they'll certainly see me as even more of a disappointment, which I'm pretty sure they didn't think was possible.

Life in Berk has always kind of been tough? I'm pretty much...used to it.

But it's not just that. We have to fix up our village a lot. It's hard to grow food, and dragons take a good chunk of our livestock. Plus the weather is like this or colder for most of the year...

The cold weather normally only stays for a few months here then it gets a lot warmer. It's not as bad in Johto.

If I remember correctly, some vikings lived in colder places a few centuries ago. I guess that's where Berk is and why it's normally cold for there.

[ Man, this is like really old stuff he read in his books at home as a kid. He hopes he has remembered this stuff correctly. ]

We've lived on Berk for seven generations. But I've never heard of any place any warmer. [He tilts his head.] There was one warm place, but... There was a good reason for that.

I was taken to a dragon nest. It was sheltered from the cold, and with all of them in there... It was pretty hot.

That would be pretty hot. Johto can be pretty unbearable with the heat during summer, but it probably can't compare to a dragon nest.

Huh... So it really will be quite the climate change when summer rolls around, then?

Yeah, and winters here can be extremely cold, but you shouldn't be too surprised if it suddenly snows during the summer or gets hot during the winter.
