[For anyone browsing the network, they might notice a gangly, brown-haired teen flashing in and out of video. Technology this advanced might be foreign to Hiccup, but he's always been pretty good at working things out and soon enough he seems satisfied enough to keep it on video.

And is he wearing a dorky cape over his usual clothes? He is totally wearing a dorky cape.]

Hello? I must be crazy... Uhmn, if anyone's listening, I could use a little help?

[A more thoughtful look as he goes back to fiddling with the device. A frown follows.]

New Bark Town? Hmn, I guess these guys don't know how to spell Berk... Why can't vikings see grammar is important, too?

[Hiccups gives the feed A Look before shutting it off.]

I would not worry, though. Aside from some extremely limited circumstances, it is not particularly dangerous.

A new world? Awh jeez... [GROAN. And then a sigh.] Great. Though I guess that gets rid of one problem...

[Ziva smiles slightly. It's a bit of a shock, first arriving.]

You are taking this very well, at least. My name is Ziva, if you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.

Well... [Actually, no. He doesn't have a reason for 'taking it well'. Hiccup is still kind of hoping that he is dreaming. Or crazy. Or that he died in his sleep.]

Of course. Well then, I will attempt to explain.

This place is called Johto, collectively. We are meant to travel through this place, and are given creatures to train for protection and companionship. If you do not see one in your immediate vicinity that seems to be particularly friendly, it will be on your person, contained in a small capsule called a Pokeball.

There are people from different worlds and different times, here. Even if there are people from your same world, it is not guaranteed that they are from the same time.

At the flash of light he drops the capsule in surprise, then stares at the tiny Horsea looking up to him. Ziva might notice a tiny smile.]

...Heh. It kind of looks like a baby sea dragon.

[Aww, it's cute. Ziva might be a badass ex-assassin, but she can still appreciate an adorable baby Horsea. It makes her smile.]

There are many different kinds of Pokemon, with different abilities. For example...

How do I get the gear to do that?

[Hiccup looks back to Ziva, then studies her pokemon.]

Huh... They look nothing like the one I have. Though I guess all the dragons back home looked different from one another, too.

Point it at your Pokemon, it should determine which type it is automatically.

[Ziva shakes her head.]

There is a great variety of them. Both of mine, that you've seen, are very canine-like. Ari is capable of breathing fire, Tali has not shown any particular ability yet.

[And he does so! When the mechanical voice is done, Hiccup looks confused for a second, then shakes his head.] So... Water, then.

Which one of them is which? [Looking at those pokemon with studious eyes.] Hmn, wonder what this little guy can do...

[Another study of the Horsea causes Hiccup to slip off that dreadful cape, picking up the pokemon and wrapping it up instead. He will just have to make do with his fur vest.]

Ari is the larger of the two--he is a species called Houndoom--and Tali is the smaller. She is an Eevee; I have named both of them.

[She shrugs, and eyes you and your vest critically.]

...It is a three day journey to the next town. It will be very cold, if that is all the clothing you have.

I see...

[Shh, Ziva. The vest is awesome, and clearly enough. Hiccup shrugs.]

There's other stuff in this bag... And I'm used to bad weather. Berk only has one good season, and it's pretty short. I just happened to be taken from that season...

Ah. I have gotten more used to the cold, but where I grew up, it was rather warm all year long.

[She shrugs.]

I would almost rather be back in the desert sometimes.

Huh. Sounds kind of weird. But nice, I guess.

So is the weather always like this? Because I'll need to get some new furs if it is, even if I can tolerate the cold for now...

No. It is winter now, it will become warmer when spring begins, and it gets rather hot in the summer.

Oh good, heh...

[Paaaause.] Hey, Ziva... How long have you been here?

Oh... I don't suppose I could get back home sooner than that, huh?

You could, possibly. We are not in control of when we come, or when we leave. Sometimes, people will fall asleep for a week and wake with more memories of their own worlds.

[It's pretty much clear by the look on his face that Hiccup does not understand these time shenanigans quite yet, but... Whatever. This day has been pretty weird already.]

Well, uh. [Weakest shrug ever.] I guess. There's kind of a bad situation going on with my tribe and...my best friend.

[Ziva nods in understanding.]

I would not worry too much. From what I understand, no matter how much time you spend here, you will return to the same moment. For some, that may not be ideal, but for you...your friend should be fine while you are gone.

So then he'll be safe, but I'll...still have to slay a dragon. Or convince everyone that we've misjudged them.
